"Museomics: a window to past population history"

Jérémy Gauthier (Museum de Genève, invité par Elisabeth Huguet et Elisabeth Herniou)
Museum collections contain an invaluable source of samples. Until recently, these samples were inaccessible for genetic studies, mainly because of the difficulty to recover the DNA they contain. But recent developments in extraction and sequencing methods now allow access to the genetic information carried by these samples. Through different studies we will see how useful collection samples can be to investigate multiple biological questions at different evolutionary scales.
